The "Hiking 2" is the perfect tunnel tent for hiking and biking trips where a low pack weight is crucial. It is spacious and ideal for 2 people.

High quality materials

The tent is made of siliconized ripstop nylon. Unlike a conventional PU coating - where the material is heat treated after the PU coating is applied - the silicone coating makes the fabric stronger, as it is not weakened by a drying process that exposes the material to high heat. This means that a lighter (and at the same time stronger) fabric can be used.

For this reason, the "Hiking 2" is significantly lighter than a comparable tent made of a PU-coated material, and at the same time the "Hiking 2 Tunnel Tent" has the advantage that it is treated with silicone on both sides and therefore does not absorb moisture. So you can shake rain, dew and condensation from the outer tent before you pack up in the morning.

The poles and pegs are made of high quality aluminum.

Thoughtful design and clever details

The tent has a tunnel construction with an extended vestibule that provides a good balance between weight, space and comfort. The extra large vestibule offers space for luggage or for cooking when the weather does not allow to light the burner outside.

To reduce wear and tear on the floor of the inner tent, the tunnel tent comes with a pad that you can mount under the inner tent. You can also leave this at home if you want to save 200 grams of weight. This tarp can also be used as a tarp or awning.

Our recommendation for the seams

If there is a risk that you will use the tent in prolonged heavy rain, the seams of the tent must be sealed with a silicone adhesive (GearAid) to achieve 100% waterproofness.

As shipped, the tent is able to withstand a downpour without any problems. We tested it for a week in varying weather in the mountains without water penetration. Of course, the tent must be well braced so that the water can run off!!!
