Is security & stability important to you? At the same time, do you want to enjoy independence and freedom? Then telescopic hiking poles are the ideal companion on all your paths. The robust yet lightweight poles offer you maximum support and surefootedness on any surface.

At the same time, they ensure an optimal gait pattern. Your joints, muscles, and hips are optimally relieved. So you always stay ahead even in rough terrain.

How does a telescopic hiking pole work?

A telescopic hiking pole is, as the name suggests, telescopic. It consists of three segments that you can pull apart and lock as you wish. This way, trekking poles with a telescopic system can be adjusted in no time.

Especially on changing terrain, the easy adjustability is of enormous advantage. It ensures maximum safety. Even on longer hikes with corresponding luggage, these models can serve you well.

Your body weight is optimally distributed and your joints are relieved as much as possible. In steep and difficult terrain, a telescopic pole can be easily attached to the trekking backpack or a light hiking backpack. For transport, you can quickly and easily reduce it to a compact length.

The advantage: You have enough freedom to hold on or even climb.

What is the difference between foldable and telescopic hiking poles?

The main difference lies in the adjustment options: Foldable hiking poles are unfolded. With telescopic hiking poles, you adjust the appropriate length by pulling apart the segments.

The latter is quick and, above all, stepless. This way, you can perfectly adjust your equipment to your body size and readjust if necessary.

This sophisticated system has another decisive advantage:

  • Telescopic hiking poles offer more rigidity than their competitors.
  • This not only improves cushioning but also positively affects the lifespan.
  • Even with frequent use on stone and scree, these models are extremely durable.

One or two telescopic hiking poles when hiking?

First of all: hiking poles are not offered in pairs without reason. To optimally relieve your body and provide maximum safety at the same time, you should always use two telescopic hiking poles when hiking, trekking, and the like.

  • On flat terrain, you hold your poles diagonally and use them alternately according to your natural movement pattern.
  • In steep terrain (uphill and downhill), the so-called double pole technique has proven effective.

To do this, place both trekking poles with the telescopic system every second step and push off with their help. This saves your strength and protects your joints.

Can the telescopic hiking poles also be used in snow?

Yes, thanks to the included snow baskets, our telescopic hiking poles are perfectly suited for use in snow. By the way, the delivery includes 4 different attachments: for

  1. Asphalt,
  2. Nordic walking,
  3. Trekking
  4. and snow.

What material are the telescopic hiking poles from Alpin Loacker made of?

We have different models in stock for you. You can choose between aircraft aluminum and carbon

  • Telescopic trekking poles made of carbon have a decisive advantage: they are ultra-light and weigh just 260 grams per pole.
  • The models made of aluminum are slightly heavier at 292 grams per pole, but they are also more robust.

Especially for long-term use in difficult terrain, aluminum convinces with better durability.

For use on soft ground and light hikes, the properties of carbon are comparable to those of aluminum. Our ultra-light carbon telescopic poles are slightly more expensive than the aluminum hiking poles. This is because processing carbon fiber is significantly more complex.

Both models, by the way, feature an ergonomically shaped cork handle. The sustainable natural material provides you with optimal grip in any weather – free from blisters and calluses. Due to the maximum breathability and skin-friendly properties, our telescopic hiking pole feels excellent in your hand even at extreme temperatures.

How long are the telescopic hiking poles when extended/collapsed?

Our telescopic hiking poles have a length of 65 cm when collapsed. You can optimally adjust this to your height thanks to the adjustable range from 105 cm to 135 cm.

What closure system do the telescopic hiking poles from Alpin Loacker have?

For our trekking poles with a telescopic system, we deliberately chose the clamp closure. This closure system has several advantages over the twist lock:

  • The adjustment is particularly easy and intuitive. This provides you with maximum user comfort. This way, you can even adjust your poles quickly and easily with gloves on.
  • The durability is also significantly better than with twist locks. They are particularly long-lasting and do not unexpectedly come loose.

This way, you will enjoy your telescopic hiking pole for a long time while also enjoying maximum safety.
