Whether it's a balmy summer night, a fresh spring morning or a crisis in October - with the Alpin Loacker 3-season outdoor sleeping bag, you are perfectly equipped for 8 months of the year when it comes to sleeping outdoors. Here you can find out everything about the ultralight sleeping bag: from temperature range to material, as well as sleeping bag care and handling. We also go into more detail about washing your sleeping bag so that your trekking sleeping bag 3 seasons stays in good condition.

What does the temperature range of our Down Pro 3 hiking sleeping bag mean?

A 3-season sleeping bag - The temperature range of a trekking sleeping bag tells you at what temperature you can use the corresponding sleeping bag model without freezing. A lightweight down sleeping bag is therefore particularly suitable - these are very comfortable, make hiking easy and maintain your body temperature so that you can reach the perfect temperature in your camping sleeping bag. The comfort temperature of our Down Pro 3 outdoor sleeping bag is 4°C. We have also tested our 3-season hiking sleeping bag at 0°C in the Austrian Alps and did not freeze!

Can the 3-season sleeping bag also be used as an outdoor blanket?

Our lightweight hiking sleeping bag is available in different zipper variants, as a right-handed sleeping bag or as a left-handed sleeping bag. For others, an outdoor mummy sleeping bag does not offer enough freedom of movement and they feel restricted. If this is the case for you, you can open the Down Pro 3 up to the calf and use the down sleeping bag as a blanket sleeping bag. Although this offers you the advantage of being able to use it individually, it will affect the temperature range as full insulation is not guaranteed. Do you need a double sleeping bag? No problem - our left and right zip versions make it easy to couple sleeping bags and you have a two-person sleeping bag in no time at all.

What outdoor clothing can you wear in a 3-season sleeping bag?

Many mountain enthusiasts rely on merino functional underwear. Merino underwear ensures that moisture is quickly wicked away and body temperature is regulated. It is also pleasantly soft, which ensures a high level of sleeping comfort. The antibacterial effect is a great advantage, especially on hikes lasting several days. At Alpin Loacker you will find a large selection of merino outdoor clothing, from merino boxer shorts, long sports underpants or various merino functional shirts. Everything to make your night outdoors as comfortable as possible.

How do I prevent wetness and what do I do if my sleeping bag gets wet?

Although our Down Pro 3 trekking sleeping bag is made of 20D water-repellent ripstop nylon, condensation caused by body heat and humidity cannot always be avoided. Depending on the terrain and weather conditions, a bivy sack can help here. It is 100 percent waterproof, which is almost essential, especially when sleeping outdoors without a tent. If your camping sleeping bag is already wet, you should open it as wide as possible. If possible, hang it over a line, branch or fence and let it dry before rolling it up again.

Sustainable sleeping bag - material and filling

Our Down Pro 3 has sustainable 600+ fill power and Sustainable Down Standard certification (500g RDS). The outer material consists of 20D water-repellent and TPU-coated ripstop nylon, which is extremely robust. These materials in combination result in an ultralight sleeping bag that is nevertheless robust and sufficiently warm.

Washing sleeping bags - Care instructions for down sleeping bags

Hand washing is actually recommended for the Alpin Loacker down sleeping bag. It will survive machine washing, but the down will suffer. If you do decide to use the washing machine, it is important to use down detergent. Other detergents remove the sensitive fatty coating of the down and this leads to clumping, which in turn affects the loftiness of your sleeping bag, and you should never set it to more than 40 °C and rinse it once. This is the only way to remove all detergent residue from the down and the gentlest way is to hand wash with lukewarm water and a little down detergent. Squeeze out all the air and make sure it is completely soaked with water. You can then simply leave it to soak for a while. Squeeze the sleeping bag vigorously so that as much water as possible comes out. Caution: Never wring out a sleeping bag - this has a bad effect on the material and down. It is best to air dry for a long time afterwards and never pack and store it damp to avoid mold and unpleasant odors.
