FAQ – Trekking Pole Accessories

When should I replace pole tips?

When the carbide tip is worn down so much that it no longer provides grip or the shaft of the tip becomes visible. With regular use on rock, every 100–200 hours of use.

What’s the difference between summer and winter baskets?

Summer baskets are small (about 5 cm Ø) for firm ground. Winter baskets are large (8–12 cm Ø) and prevent the pole from sinking into the snow. In autumn and on hut tours, summer baskets are sufficient.

Do your replacement parts fit all poles?

Our accessories are designed for standard threads used by most common trekking poles (Leki, Black Diamond, Komperdell, etc.). When in doubt, check the thread diameter of your pole.
