Are security and stability important to you? But do you want to enjoy independence and freedom at the same time? Then telescopic hiking poles are the ideal companion on all your trails. The robust yet lightweight poles offer you maximum grip and surefootedness on any surface.

At the same time, they ensure an optimal gait pattern. Your joints, muscles and hips are optimally relieved. This means you are always ahead of the game, even on rough terrain.

How does a telescopic walking pole work?

A telescopic walking stick is, as the name suggests, telescopic. It consists of three segments that you can pull apart and lock as required. In this way, trekking poles with a telescopic system can be adjusted in no time at all.

The easy adjustability is an enormous advantage, especially on changing surfaces. This ensures maximum safety. These models can also serve you well on longer hikes with appropriate luggage.

Your body weight is optimally distributed and your joints are relieved as much as possible. In steep and difficult terrain, a telescopic pole can be easily attached to a trekking rucksack or a light hiking rucksack backpack. For transportation, you can quickly and easily reduce it to a compact length.

The advantage: you have enough freedom to hold on or even climb.

What is the difference between folding and telescopic walking poles?

The main difference lies in the adjustment options: Foldable hiking poles are unfolded. With telescopic walking poles, you adjust the length by pulling the segments apart.

The latter is quick and, above all, stepless. This allows you to adjust your equipment perfectly to your height and readjust it if necessary.

This ingenious system has another decisive advantage:

  • Telescopic walking poles have more stiffness than their competitors.
  • This not only improves damping, but also has a positive effect on service life.
  • Even with frequent use on stone and scree, these models are extremely hard-wearing.

One or two telescopic walking poles for hiking?

First things first: hiking poles are not sold in pairs for no reason. You should always use two telescopic walking poles for hiking, trekking and other activities so that they can relieve the strain on your body and offer you maximum safety at the same time.

  • On level ground, hold your poles diagonally and use them alternately according to your natural movement.
  • In steep terrain (uphill and downhill), the so-called double-deck use has proven its worth.

To do this, you use both trekking poles with telescopic system every other step and push yourself off with their help. This will save you energy and protect your joints.

Can the telescopic walking poles also be used in snow?

Yes, thanks to the snow plates supplied, our telescopic walking poles are ideal for use in the snow. By the way: 4 different attachments are included in the scope of delivery: for

  1. Asphalt,
  2. Nordic Walking,
  3. Trekking
  4. and snow.

What material are the telescopic hiking poles from Alpin Loacker made of?

We have different models in stock for you. You can choose between aircraft aluminum and carbon .

  • Telescopic trekking poles made of carbon have a decisive advantage: they are ultra-light and weigh just 260 grams per pole.
  • At 292 grams per pole, the aluminum models are somewhat heavier, but also more robust.

Aluminum offers better durability, especially for long-term use in difficult terrain.

For use on soft ground and light hikes, however, the properties of carbon are comparable to those of aluminum. Our ultra-light carbon telescopic poles are slightly more expensive than the aluminum hiking poles. This is because the processing of carbon fiber is much more complex.

Incidentally, both models have an ergonomically shaped cork grip. The sustainable natural material gives you optimum grip in all weathers - free from blisters and calluses. Thanks to the high level of breathability and the skin-friendly properties, our telescopic walking pole feels great in the hand even in extreme temperatures.

How long are the telescopic walking poles extended/collapsed?

When pushed together, our telescopic walking poles have a length of 65 cm. Thanks to the adjustment range of 105 cm to 135 cm, you can adjust them to suit your height.

What locking system do the telescopic hiking poles from Alpin Loacker have?

For our trekking poles with telescopic system, we have deliberately opted for the clamp lock. This locking system has several advantages compared to the twist lock:

  • Adjustment is particularly simple and intuitive. This gives you maximum ease of use. This way, you can adjust your poles quickly and easily, even when wearing gloves.
  • The durability is also much better than with twist-off closures. They are particularly durable and do not come loose unexpectedly.

This means you can enjoy your telescopic walking pole for a long time and enjoy maximum safety at the same time.
