What's the Difference Between 150 and 230 g/m² Merino Wool?
150 g/m² is the lightest weight – ideal for sports, summer and as a baselayer during activity. 230 g/m² is warmer and suitable as a baselayer in winter or as a standalone layer in cool temperatures. For autumn and winter tours we recommend a set of 150 baselayer and 230 long-sleeve shirt or hoodie as mid-layer.
Is Merino Clothing Scratchy?
No – high-quality superfine merino wool with fiber diameters under 18.5 microns is not scratchy. It can be worn directly on the skin without any problems, even with sensitive skin. Alpin Loacker uses only the finest merino wool for maximum wearing comfort.
